1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using College Squared, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Cancellation Policy. If you purchase for a student, you confirm that you are authorized to manage the account and accept these terms for the family.
2. Membership options
College Squared currently offers Guided Membership and Premier Membership. Services, review allowances, and counselor access differ by plan and are described on the membership selection page at enrollment.

3. Twelve-month commitment
Each membership begins with a minimum 12-month contract term starting on the purchase date. Monthly billing divides the annual obligation into 12 scheduled payments; it does not create a month-to-month contract. Annual billing collects the full annual amount at the start of the term.
The exact start date, contract end date, billing schedule, and minimum financial obligation will be shown before purchase and repeated in the enrollment receipt.
4. Automatic renewal
For memberships paid monthly, the initial 12-month commitment converts to month-to-month billing after the first year unless you cancel. For memberships paid annually, annual renewal remains the default, but you may schedule monthly billing to begin at the first eligible renewal date. You may also cancel renewal before that date.
College Squared will send an email reminder approximately 30 days before renewal to the account email address. You are responsible for keeping your email address and payment method current. Any material pricing or membership change will be communicated before it takes effect as required by applicable law.
5. Cancellation and early termination
You may turn off automatic renewal through Account Settings or by emailing support@collegesquared.com. A cancellation received before the renewal date prevents the next annual term but does not by itself end the current 12-month commitment.
If you request termination before the current commitment ends, any unpaid amount remaining under the minimum annual obligation may become due, together with a $50 early termination fee, except where prohibited by law. Details, timing, and limited exceptions are stated in the Cancellation Policy.
6. Additional services and charges
Guided members may purchase additional reviews or counselor meetings. Those purchases are separate from membership charges. The service, price, and any applicable review credit will be shown before purchase. Except where required by law or stated otherwise, completed reviews, held meetings, and used credits are not refundable.
7. Accounts and acceptable use
You must provide accurate information, protect account credentials, and promptly report unauthorized access. You may not interfere with the portal, misuse another person's information, attempt to bypass access controls, violate another person's rights, or use College Squared content for unlawful purposes.
8. College Squared materials and ownership
College Squared and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the portal and the original materials made available through it. These "College Squared Materials" include the original expression, selection, coordination, and arrangement of our planning guides, curricula, webinars, recordings, videos, research compilations, timelines, checklists, templates, prompts, examples, rubrics, counselor feedback, graphics, branding, site design, databases, and software.
College Squared Materials are protected to the extent available under copyright, trademark, trade-secret, contract, and other applicable laws. These terms do not claim ownership of facts, general college-admissions concepts, ideas, procedures, methods, systems, public-domain material, or third-party content.
9. Limited license and prohibited uses
While your account is authorized to use the service, College Squared grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable, and nonsublicensable license to access and use College Squared Materials for the enrolled student's and family's personal, noncommercial college-planning purposes. You may download or print materials and exports only when the service expressly makes that function available. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
Except with College Squared's prior written permission, you may not:
- Copy, record, reproduce, modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative versions of College Squared Materials, except for authorized personal-use exports;
- Publish, post, upload, transmit, distribute, sell, rent, license, sublicense, or otherwise make College Squared Materials available to another person or organization;
- Share account access or use College Squared Materials to provide services to third parties, create training materials, train or evaluate an artificial-intelligence system, or develop a competing product or service;
- Scrape, harvest, systematically extract, or bulk-download College Squared Materials through automated tools or repeated manual collection;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover source code or nonpublic components of the portal, except to the limited extent applicable law does not permit that restriction; or
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, attribution, access-control, or other proprietary notices.
Nothing in these terms restricts a use permitted by applicable law that cannot lawfully be limited by contract. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10. Student materials and counselor feedback
You retain your ownership rights in essays, resumes, brag sheets, activity lists, honors, profile information, and other materials you submit to College Squared ("Student Materials"). You grant College Squared a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Student Materials only as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service; provide requested counseling, reviews, and exports; maintain required business records; and comply with law.
This license ends when the Student Materials are deleted from the service or the account closes, except for copies retained temporarily in routine backups or retained as required for legitimate business records, dispute resolution, security, or legal compliance.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit Student Materials and that their use through the service will not violate another person's rights. College Squared retains ownership of the original feedback, annotations, rubrics, and coaching materials it creates, while granting the enrolled student permission to use and incorporate that feedback in the student's own educational and application materials.
11. Reporting and enforcement
Report suspected unauthorized use of College Squared Materials to support@collegesquared.com. College Squared may investigate suspected violations and may limit, suspend, or terminate access when it reasonably determines that these terms have been materially or repeatedly violated. Termination does not eliminate payment obligations or other liabilities already incurred, and College Squared may pursue other remedies available under applicable law.
12. Educational guidance
College Squared provides planning tools, educational resources, and admissions guidance. It does not guarantee admission, scholarships, financial aid, academic outcomes, or decisions by any school or third party. Students and families remain responsible for reviewing submissions, meeting deadlines, and confirming requirements with the relevant institution.
13. Availability and third-party services
The portal may depend on third-party services such as payment processors, calendar providers, video platforms, and communications tools. College Squared may update, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and any commitments made for a paid membership.
14. Changes to these terms
College Squared may update these terms prospectively. Material changes affecting an active paid membership will be communicated before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date of a permitted update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
